Hey man I wanna know the release order and if people can gush and rant to me that's why I made this topic. I'm trying to get into the fandom and so far the first Iron Man was awesome so I think I will migrate into it.

I just don't want to potentially spoil anything is all. If you want the release order I can give it to you.

I think Scar was just saying you don't need D+'s order because most people here are enthusiastic enough about it and could tell you off the top of their head

That said, I recall D+ having the movies listed in release order at some point. Not sure if they incorporated the series in the same way. You can look it up pretty easily online though once you get to that point.

But off the top of my head (some names of shows may potentially have spoilers, read at own risk if you don't already know what shows exist):

Wandavision
Falcon and Winter Solider
Loki
What If?
Hawkeye

It is a better film than Iron Man 2 though, if that matters.

it doesn't really fit with the other Marvel films because it's more of a character study than an action film. Not as powerful as something like Joker or Logan, but still pretty good.

For me, it's like appreciating Alien 3 because it's a Fincher film rather than an Alien film.

I'll make a watchalong since people asked lol. I'll write my thoughts on Iron Man 1 as well, like I said I virtually know nothing, I've watched both Guardians of the Galaxy but I'm going to gladly rewatch them.

That reminds me, didn't they tease a new villain when the Hulk blood started dripping on his friend's head and his brain started to kinda grow and throb?

Order of release, and yes you should watch Incredible Hulk.

Are you guys forgetting that Abomination aka the villain of this movie, is supposedly also gonna show up in the new She-Hulk show, I think next year?

Yeah that was the point. I just wanted to know if purchasing a rent for Hulk was essential and knowing that yes it's all connected made it justifiable. I rented Hulk and now taking a piss break but this topic spawned me to make this other topic if ya wanna see me deep dive into the universe https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/400-current-events/79789802

Hulk does lay some minor groundwork for another Phase 1 movie.

The Incredible Hulk isn't a great film by any means but it is certainly better than movies like Iron Man 2 or Thor 2. So if you are willing to put up with them then I would go ahead and watch it.

But if the issue is the movies availability, then yeah, you aren't missing out on much by not being able to see The Incredible Hulk.

It's a fine movie that really doesn't deserve all the bashing it gets (no pun intended), and much, much better than Hulk (2003). The main problem is that the Hulk as a character doesn't have much depth to him, at least compared to the other Avenger characters, so that makes it kind of difficult to make an interesting film with him as the main protagonist.

As for the events that take place, it's true that the movie isn't essential for following the Avengers storyline, though I do think it adds depth to the growth of Bruce Banner's relation to the Hulk:
Banner starts out trying to contain the Hulk and prevent him from emerging at all costs. At the end you see the beginning of him trying to control the Hulk instead, which leads to him being somewhat able to trigger his transformation at will by the time of the first Avengers movie ("I'm always angry").
And in Endgame this growth finally (albeit somewhat unexpectedly) ends up with Banner and the Hulk basically being united as one stable harmonious individual.
