I don't think contracts use a universal template. There's probably going to be a clause in to avoid paying out like that.

yeah i think if they get fired then they get the remainder, not if they take another job

From what I've heard there's usually some sort of buyout that gets triggered.

It's the other way around. The coach has to pay the school. Usually the new school covers it though.
