What's new this time is seeing all the various routes instead of just sticking to one girl and also the new side stories that were added in. You basically need to see everything from all possible routes because it all unlocks artwork in the gallery and you need all of those (along with performing some secret actions to unlock the platinum. You can skip dialogue in any scene you've already seen before so once you finish that first playthrough it goes pretty quickly from there.
