Funny enough I did this a couple days ago and the microwave died when pressing the start button. I'm going to try replacing the fuse instead of buying a new microwave.

I used to have a really old microwave with no power setting at all. In didn't even have digital buttons, just a dial you turn, which not only acted as the timer but auto-started the machine. You couldn't set it for just 30 seconds because it wasn't a far enough turn of the dial to turn the thing on at all. It was very weak though, plates of leftovers that take anywhere from 30 seconds to 1:30 in my new microwave to heat up today, similar sized plates of leftovers took like 5 whole minutes in this damn thing l
