This article describes FacebookMeta as similar to big tobacco. I have to agree. When I deleted Facebook cold turkey it took a few days to stop thumbing to this missing spot on my apps.
In all it took two weeks to no longer miss it. Everybody else is on it so if I want to know any news shared by a friend or family I am usually texted a screenshot anyway. I had way too many friends and the people I really wanted to keep up with I have their phone numbers anyway.

Now we are moving toward Meta which I suppose will be even more addictive. Put on a VR to go see and hang out with your friends in real time and I imagine attend virtual real time concerts/speeches/events etc and of course play games and everything else Facebook does.

Will Meta be a big deal or will Facebook finally go the way of MySpace?
