Ages feels like all the items are just there for the sole purpose to get past arbitrary obstacles. Seasons feels like you can just fuck around with a lot of their items and have fun

Felt a little awkward initially, but later in the game you get used to it. I just think it was more unique than the Slingshot mainly.

I always say Seasons because its easier and Ages has the more satisfying story.

I did hear that the NPC stories in the linked content are better when you play Ages first though.

It's a nitpick but I like playing Seasons first then Ages, because there's literally 1 square on the map of Ages that cannot be filled unless you're on a continuation file >_>

iirc, if you play Ages 1st, then Seasons, it has the queen taking a tour of the Seasons world and eventually reuniting with her dead husband who is the skeleton pirate

if you play Seasons 1st, it has Subrosians just chilling in the Ages world. That's it >_>

Ages -> Seasons definitely has the better side plot lol

I also just want to say that the Mermaid Suit makes swimmer way more tedious. Idk why the fuck they felt the need to change the swimming controls once you got it, but I hate it.

Magic Boomerang and Roc's Cape were better upgrades than Mermaid Suit and Power Glove
Ages had Cane of Somaria which had no Season's equivalent.

So 2 points for Ages and 3 for Seasons.

Looking at the dungeon main items, the last three dungeons are upgrades in both, and the item order for the two games is pretty similar. Ages gets a free slot in dungeon 5 for a unique item due to moving the seed satchel outside of a dungeon so it could move the power bracelet, roc's feather, ranged seed weapon and hookshot type item earlier by one dungeon each.

Traveling between two different world maps had already been done in ALttP, even though Ages does it better.

The reason the season mechanic sucked is because it was obvious what the fuck would happen
With the time travel you didn't know how it would change.

Seasons changing was basically just find the stump and swap seasons until the one that lets you move onward shows up.

What no. Swapping places with pots got boring and it wasted an item upgrade on letting you swap with pots from farther away. While the magnetic gloves having pulling and pushing made them fun.

Switch hook made you think about how to solve things
the gloves was most like all of 'move ball, k done' and sometimes 'move ball tap A/B twice and hold so you can move it more over a pit'

The switch hook was stand on the button and grab a pot. If pot is too far away, then swap back and forth to move it closer.

There's a difference between 'here are five pots, pick the right one' and 'here's a pit, move the ball across it by just double tapping the button'
It's like calling the tile colour puzzle in Ages simple while saying the jump tile one in Seasons is hard

I downloaded Seasons from the 3DS store but I only played a couple hours of it. I beat both of them when I was a kid but I didnt remember anything about it

Roc's Cape was super busted and basically broke combat difficulty for the rest of the game. Makes the true linked game final boss a lot easier in Seasons than Ages. Really fun though.

Hyper Slingshot would be cool, but there's basically zero practical use for it outside of the first of the linked game bosses. Same with L2 boomerang, just not actually going to make an equip slot outside of the times you have to use it. Still obviously better than junk like power gloves.

This is true, but I will add that Seasons as second game has a generic monster fight instead of the little Donkey Kong minigame to save Zelda before the fourth dungeon, which is definitely a step down.
