im pretty computer stupid, but i feel its time to upgrade and changing a processor doesnt seem too hard.

Right now i have an i5 7500. What would be a good upgrade? Would i need a heatsink for said upgrade or would the current one be good enough?

Some other info about my PC if it is relevant

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB on GP106-A GPU
16 Gigs Ram

What motherboard do you have? That will be the ultimate factor in what kind of CPU you can use.

Look up your current CPU if its there and find what looks good based on your price range. Then check if its compatible with your MOBO, if you have enough power supply, etc. Id suggest getting a heat sink fan if youre going to be upgrading manually anyway, assuming you have room for it
