He moved from England to Jamaica when he was three months old where he lived until he was 18. Obviously hes going to have a Jamaican accent and identity with Jamaican culture. But he was criticised on this TV show for being a white man appropriating Jamaican culture, which lead to complaints from viewers.

I find it odd that the interviewer sort-of criticises him for not being born in Jamaica, even though he moved there when he was 3 months old. If you have lived in a place since 3 months old, it's not really any different than being born there

My brother was born in Germany (on a US army base) but he moved state side before he could talk. He has no memory of Germany and I doubt this man remembers living in England as an infant.

I was born in Indiana but I moved to Alaska at like 2. And I can't remember anything from before I moved to Alaska. I might as well have been born in Alaska for all it matters

This man is Jamaican

It's most likely just people who don't know anything about the guy. He obviously understands how unique his situation is, he calls himself White Yardie ffs, so this was an opportunity for him to say hey I actually am Jamaican
