Honestly, a basic horror film is a much worse experience than a whacky action movie. Boring is literally the worst thing a movie can be. Even if you're pissed, you're more entertained than when you're bored.

Live action RE is a recipe for disaster. He'll even CG RE movies are progressively getting worse. The RE IP itself has become a undead monster waiting to be put down.

I agree 100%, btw. For fans hoping that one day they will get a legitimate adaptation, though, at least they've decided to put it in the right genre.

Although honestly nothing is worse than the fact that the first Silent Hill movie absolutely knocked it out of the park and is maybe the best video game adaptation out there and then they followed it up with a sequel that seemed to get everything wrong.

I definitely stand by the first SH. Probably one my favorite horror movies. I just watched the sequel like a month ago and god damn people were not wrong. Everything about it rubbed me the wrong way.

And I was like, they're just trying to fuck with people who can't help themselves from sexualizing any woman that's over 18 on tv XD. Maybe there's more behind it, but that's how it came off to me. Oooh nooo. A series that doesn't just recreate the same game over and over again, it's so bad! How dare someone successfully take chances by not just catering to fans who can't accept change like almost every other franchise does!

I'm being extra, but that's why I respect the RE series. We have Ubisoft for people who always want the same game with a different story and a few new tweaks.

Hollywood should have done this kind of Resident Evil movies way back in 2002. Even though this movie feels a lot closer to the game, nobody care now due to the franchise becoming something else other than standard zombie survival horror game. Hell, people do not have as much love as they had for Resident Evil franchise way back in 2002.

Just got back from seeing it. I don't think it was nearly as bad as most people are saying. I wish they would have gone with just focusing on one game instead of two but hopefully a sequel will be based on one game. It was actually refreshing to see a RE movie that did not involve jump kicking dogs or bullet dodging backflips. This was definitely better than any of the Anderson films

So they portrayed a trained cop as incapable of performing what he was trained for? lol

The movie wasn't great and was super rushed, but it definitely had RE in its veins. Much more than the previous films. I think trying to tackle RE1 and 2 at the same time was a mistake though and ultimately caused most of its issues.

Weskers was botched hard.

If you take it as an ADAPTATION, and you're an RE fan, you will enjoy it.

Leon was always a naive moron in RE2 OG and RE2 Remake. It's definitely overdone in the movie, but it's an interesting take on Leon.

The rest of the characters are basically the same as each other. Claire is the portrayal that will piss a lot of people off, tbh.

It's a fun popcorn B movie. It's a bad film but it's entertaining if you're a fan.
