You had better keep this up for a few days because I have a few confessions but I don't want to blow my load all at once so I'm only going with one at a time...

Anyway, first confession... I decided to bite the bullet and get a new television set the other day because black friday. My current one works but I've had it over 8 years and the color is not great, it has a vertical dead pixel line near the left edge and it has major shadowing in the lower left part (this is my fault. My apt is small so I had to have it near my AC and AC units say "don't have electronics near this." I didn't listen... but still it has lasted a long time and was cheap when I got it. New one is 43 inch smart 4k which seems to be new standard. Was on black friday sale and also I got an additional $100 off by signing up for an amazon credit card. I lied about my income. I don't give a fuck and they don't either. I don't plan on using it much if at all. I just wanted the discount. All in all, including tax and shipping and warranty, I spend around $200. That's acceptable. I plan and rearranging my apt so that I no longer have the TV near the AC (which is also heat in the winter. It does both. I haven't used heat this winter/pre-winter cold fall yet though since insulation was added when apartment was renovated). In any case, looking forward to getting it and setting it up and using it. My buddy laughed and said it's a low-shelf brand (TCL?) but my current one is too and the one I ordered got 4.7/5 for average review with 15k reviews, so I'm not concerned. Warranty is 4 years too in case it shits the bed...It will also serve as a monitor because I can do that too :P

Ain't nothing wrong with a TCL, especially of you calibrate the screen. It'll look just as high end as those $1000 4k TV's tbh

This is going to be a fun confession. I am not sure if you have seen me around but I have made posts here and there. I often try to be open minded and fair/honest in my answers. I can't help myself when it comes to sympathizing with CE users struggling with relationships and I try to offer advice from a female perspective.

I often use my wife as a general example from time to time. Truth is.. I am the wife in question and my husband hasn't used this account for quite sometime now. I often wonder if I am the only woman masquerading CE as a man. What do you think?

I even try to act sterner in my responses in fear the act would come undone if I don't which has often gotten me misunderstood. No one has caught on so far so I guess I am doing alright. XD

Yes, and it has been. My laptop is 4k compatible but I don't really get to see it because of display area... and maybe frame rate? I'm not sure how it all works. My buddy has a 43 inch LG 4k TV and we've watched both recent and old school movies on it (both of which were Terminator movies >_> he really has a soft spot for Terminator Arnold as a protagonist or at least anti-hero... he had a weird father figure thing going on. I don't get it but I've always enjoyed T2 and Dark Fate was surprisingly better than I expected it would be so no complaints lol... but the point is I finally decided to make this purchase because he had been bugging me for a few years "yo you should get a new TV bro! 4K!" I finally gave in (it was always just a matter of time) and I don't expect to regret anything.

Now you gotta get a surround sound setup if you don't have it already. It's absolutely incredible and so much more immersive than the screen improvements tbh

I am very headphone-centric but I did see soundbars advertised and they were not too bad so we'll see. I would rather stick with headphones though probably. I've always been like that

I agree with this. The way I see it, in terms of my own identity, I'm in a bit of a gray area between neutral and male. I've never felt entirely male, and in fact as a little kid, I thought I should have been a girl. This didn't last, but I don't think that was because it was a phase, as many might suggest. I think it was because the times were what they were and realized there was nothing I could do about it (which also was because of the times). For that reason, I feel like I have somewhat grown into the role, enough so that I find it acceptable but not necessarily ideal, though when I think about how my life would be if I had been born biologically female, I get essentially the same results. Grass is greener effect? I don't know. And that 'I don't know' is why I don't really further pursue it. I'm just looking to try and find out who I am, with the intention to then accept and thrive. I don't care about finding a label to fit into. That would be artificial and silly. I just want to be able to make sense of my perspective and my existence. It bothers me when loved ones refer to me as a "man" or talk about my childhood while referencing me as a "boy" but I don't mind casual terms like "dude" or "guy" etc. Those are fine. Neutral words like "person" or from when I was younger, "kid" or "child" are always okay. The way I see it, labelling me as a full, far end of the gender spectrum man is like calling mitt romney or liz cheney "far right super pro-trump extremists." That just isn't right. Are they republicans, right wing? Sure. Are they that far in that direction? No. They've made that clear. Is joe biden some far left socialist extremist on the other side? No. I know which side I lean, but I am closer to the middle than most I would think, unless I don't understand "most." That's what I struggle with at times, but I'm having more enlightening and cathartic moments with it lately, so that's something.

This isnt much of a confession but more a way to say something without getting my ass blasted all over CE for even questioning gender norms. But I really despise the more vocal of the trans community for forcing belief on others just because they believe it. Acceptance should be enough, belief is one step too far. Saying I believe that you believe or are a different gender should be satisfactory but it isnt unless I believe it too for some reason and its bullshit. Imagine the bloody murder that would be had if we applied that same logic to religion where instead of accepting other people believed other versions of God or Jesus, what if they went out demanding others believe their version as well? It crosses a line and it needs to stop.

Idk it's pretty hard not to fight back when someone is outright saying that you're wrong in your own identity and won't use the correct pronouns. It's offensive and disrespectful. Of course they're gonna "force their beliefs," they've been forced to hide it and be extremely ostracized because of it. Trans people want to be accepted as who they are. It's fine to have those takes I guess but keeping it to yourself is a good idea.
