I think the "snowflake" designation is reserved for people who are looking for reasons to be offended, rather than being offended by reasonable subjects.

I think it's reasonable to be offended if someone's saying something like, for example, this:

Well "white people" isn't a real thing. The reason African Americans will identify as color is because most don't know what country they are descended from. Nobody else identifies as a color.

Ask what white culture is nobody can tell you, thats because "white people" are a taxon of pale and light skinned people who actually know their heritage.

Because it's literally a statement that "white people" aren't a real thing, that there is no "white culture," and that "nobody can tell you" about white heritage.

That's just a lot of racially charged babble that isn't true. I'm not personally offended by it, but I recognize it to be an offensive series of statements.

Odd Future was a rap group from 2010 that all my white friends were super into for some reason. I didn't see the appeal at all, but thought they were OK.

I think all those same people really liked Death Grips too

Edit: OK, not literally all my white friends but just a select few. And it did seem weird to me. But they were also rap fans in general.

and -- not so much. it's really more that i think that what you said undermines a person's individual ability to express themselves as a race. like, i acknowledge that there are a lot of horrible white people out there who are horrible white supremacists, but that's not anything i try to be, and i can express myself as a pallid, irish/scottish american who distances themselves from those ideas.

I'm legitimately open minded about it, if you have a good counterargument to what I said specifically I'd love to hear it. I'd prefer that to someone just saying they disagree or they're offended.
