I feel like once you hit 300ish pounds ur basically eating as a full time job. I'm biased because I work a physical job 40+ hours a week that burns a lot of calories, but I wonder how people who work full time have the time to get fat.

You don't need to eat anywhere close to 24/7 to get fat. Heck, depending on what you eat and portion sizes, it can even happen on a single meal a day.

because portion sizes are different, because diets are different, because every human body is different and has different requirements and limitations, because bodies burn calories at different rates, because food distribution isn't exact, because...
