What was the idea?
Basically, you take a piece of fiction (the inscription) and translate it into a new subjective space (the instance). You are supposed to use the minimum amount of information possible to translate one into the other, and then you equivocate the experience of the instance with the inscription and assess fidelity

My first instinct is that you need to work on tone. What you described is a synopsis with critique. There's a few different ways that can be done. Are you using an outline or model? Some type of format? If the verdict of your review isn't inherent from the atmosphere of the abridge, consider reassessing your views. Unless you NEED your audience to come to a certain conclusion for some reason that isnt universal. In which case, you need to manufacture truth. Try writing from the perspective of your ideal reader instead of yourself. Just some notions

You need a character.

I have several. Maybe you're experiencing writer's block. Self doubt, or are you distracted? Try returning to the source. Where does your best work normally flow from? Did you change something?

The author may have written a synopsis. Try reading the inside of the jacket if this is a book. They may also be using a formula that eludes you by nature. Not everyone sticks strictly to beginning, middle, end. Are you reviewing a stream of consciousness or faux memoir? That's very different from novels. Mythology too. In the case of myth & legends & folklore... 9 times out of 10, well, long story short, it's complicated because you aren't viewing a true original. So, the more familiar you are with the scope of the material, the better. Give us some details

The basic idea is that if you translate a fictional event into a real subjective space, and the translation has some fidelity, then you can say the translated copy has more authenticity to a specific worldview

What's the fictional material?

What's the world view?

Do they connect? For example, if you're trying to explain video games to someone who isn't into entertainment, you need to focus on the technology & economics & ulterior applications.

If you just say "Fun game 10/10 Minecraft brings the best parts of LEGO & TES together. Holy destructable environments! Game Makers are dead now!".... They wont get it. None of that will translate. It's all gamer stuff.

There is no fictional material, unless you consider this a work of creative fiction. The point is just to compare [novel] subjective experience to fictional events using a principle that says the basic unit of narration is vague enough such that you can translate almost anything into almost anything else. There is a lot I haven't worked out...

The worldview is basically... If you get to a certain point in life and find you have fell short, you have to account for it.

Interesting.

I mean, in theory, sure. Consciousness could be overlapped with fiction. But... Therein lies the problem. Why would someone have to account for something at that level?

Basically, if you can't trust your own worldview then you have to ensure that the events in your life are compatible with some other worldview

But I don't like the sophistry parts...
