I'm not even talking about the environment./scenery/music, although that's obviously amazing.

Like even just the vanity gear. There's so many great skins and colours, almost every single thing looks fucking great. I'm embarrassed about how much time I've spent weebing out deciding what katana skin will go with whichever outfit. The UI and menus are very satisfying. Maybe the tightest art department presentation in a game ever?

I'm happy with the gameplay loop. Sure, it's not exactly groundbreaking, but I like how dangerous the katana feels. You're taking guys out in 2 or 3 hits but the same applies to you, it's nice that they didn't go with the HP sponge option.

Basically if you have any weeb in you, even if that just means you like akira kurosawa movies, and if you like that assassin's creed/Shadow of Mordor type gameplay loop, you're gonna love it.

I have no idea what that means but I like AC gameplay okay enough. I'd never laud them as the greatest but they're fun time killers.

i hated that the starting skin for the sword was the best one and that you couldn't equip a set of gear just for looks while keeping the equipment effects of a different set

The aesthetics of the game went a long way to keep me playing. The gameplay is satisfying enough... for a while. After I reached act III I had to take a month long break before finishing the game, there was just not enough to keep my continuously going anymore. Especially since act III is the least "beautiful" area. Also recently did the DLC campaign and... it's not very good. One day a couple of years from now I'll play through the game again to re-experience that impactful beauty and I'll know how to design the gameplay experience to not negatively impact it.
