Shortest was 2 weeks at this summer camp back when I was 17. Since I was still a minor, I wasn't legally, allowed to work more than 20 hours per week. But the lady running it tried to guilt me into letting her pay me under the table to work more hours. That was the last time she saw me.

SF_Okami posted...
1 day because they said they could not afford me. I got paid for that one day tho.

Company went under a few months later.
wtf? Then why did they hire you in the first place? I can see why they went under.

About 1 hour. It was at the garbage dump. I was driven out to a dump site, handed a garbage bag and told to pick up loose trash that was littered around. All while the fucking trucks were driving in the same area. Half of that hour was me walking back to the office to quit.

Before anyone asks, no I did not know this was what they wanted when they brought me on.

worked at a tacky figurine shop that preys on old women for almost three weeks in 2009.

I couldn't stand the stuck up manager, and I quit because when I started working she told me to make sure not to give out employment applications to "unsavory people". I wasn't sure what she meant and just gave applications to any who asked. she then called me in to her office and asked me why I was giving applications to "Racist term for black people" and "bigoted term for a homosexual."

I was taken aback and said "what?" thinking I must have misheard but she then repeated the question. I then asked if this is what she meant by "unsavory people". She then said "of course, it's common sense that these people aren't trustworth."

I then said "wow, I'm not working anymore I quit." She then said "what? You can't quit, who's going to run the shop tonight?! I have another business I run!" but I was already out the door of her office and walking out of the store.

The bitch then tried to not give me my final paycheck to top it off.

3 weeks at CVS as a pharmacy tech. (Worked like 2 or 3 days per week).

Worked with a ghetto fabulous woman that the supervisor was too scared to fire due to high turnarounds.

One example, I came in on my day off to buy a few things. This woman points at me, and does the 2 finger come here gesture. I told her, you must be confused, and kept it rolling.

This ofc spilled into the next time we worked together which was an even more comical conversation.

Anyway if I stayed longer, me clashing with her behind closed doors was going to spill into me turning ghetto in front of customers as well.

I wasn't desperate for a 2nd job so I put that 2 weeks in and left. Luckily wasn't scheduled to work the 2 weeks because my tolerance was already thin.

I had a job for about three hours once. They fired me for my religious beliefs (yes thats what they told me). The boss was an absolute anus and I probably shouldve reported it to somebody.

It was a graphic design job and I couldnt work on a Christmas ad, and the dude gave me the boot instead of transferring me to a different assignment.

Two weeks as a line cook at a restaurant that just opened.

I was 21 and never had any experience cooking. But a new restaurant was opening near my house and they were doing a mass hiring. They didnt train any of the cooks.. they basically showed us one time how to make everything then threw us out in the fire. I quit because it was a Saturday night and the restaurant was slammed. Expo tickets kept coming out nonstop and I was the only cook on my station (there should be 2 cooks per station). I was behind on tickets, barely knowing what I was doing, and I had the kitchen manager in my face screaming to hurry up so I just up and walked out.

I've had two jobs where I got hired but quit before the first day. The first was for Walmart and it was because they completely disregarded my availability. I was in college at the time and could work from 3pm-11pm. They scheduled me for 6am-2pm. Their excuse was, "Well, it's almost summer, so you won't have class..." I actually did have a class that summer. Sidenote: would not recommend. That was the most stressful month of my life. Even if the material is brain dead easy, trying to cram three months of it into four weeks is insane.

The second was a place that had already decided to hire me before any kind of interview, wouldn't disclose the name of the business until I got to the interview, and had absolutely scathing reviews online (both as an employer and a business). They also lied about the pay rate.

As for jobs I actually worked: I had a tutoring job through the work study program that ran out of funding a few weeks after I started. Other tutors were claiming too many hours and so the budget, which was supposed to last the entire semester, ran out before spring break. After that, I got another work study job at the university concession stand. That job only existed for about three weeks, of which I only worked weekends, and I leave it off my resume lol

Two shifts at a dry cleaners.

It was my first ever job, when I was a teenager, and the other people who worked there were all old ladies. They didn't like having a kid around for whatever reason, so whenever I asked what I should actually be doing they'd tell me "nothing, just don't get in our way." So I did, haha. Then when I came in for my third shift I was (rightly) fired by the owner for spending my whole working career just hanging out in the back of the shop by myself doing absolutely nothing.

Six months.

I was a cart pusher at a grocery store. One day after 102f heat waves for a week on end, my coworker and I were "caught" drinking gatorades on our shift so to speak. Sitting down. The department manager looking over us, who did /not/ supercede the GM who gave us free gatorades due to the heat, threatened to fire us for drinking them on our shift without being clocked out. This old ass 50 year old Australian and I surrounded her car with carts and quit together because she suggested we drink out of the garden center hose instead while clocked in.

@DJquackquack
@NatsuSama why had she beckoned you over? Was it to fight with you or something?
This happened on my second week there.
She wanted to nitpick with me about the time I would be coming in the next day.

My actual supervisor was aware this was my 2nd job and that I would be always 5 to 10 minutes late. (I needed time to drive there after getting off my main job).

This not a supervisor of any kind wasn't informed of this on my first week. Anyway I showed up on my day off (weekends) to buy a few things. She happened to be there and gestured me to come to her. I knew she wanted to start some shit by her demeanor and the ghetto fabulous performance she was doing with my coworkers and customers sitting there. Told her she must be confused and kept it rolling.

I found the entire situation amusing, including that following Monday when she confronted me about "disrespecting her" that day and the she's "not the one." I don't give two shits if you think you're the one, if you want respect, give it. Then we will talk.

Those are just one of the many examples that spanned 3 weeks and why I left. CVS had a high turnaround back in pharmacy. Honestly when my supervisor informed me of this as a "fun fact" during my interview, I should have took it as a red flag. I was so happy to get a 2nd job so close to home I ignored it. Supervisor was too scared to get rid of her because he was having trouble keeping people back there, yet he was aware she was the reason turnaround was so high.

After working an 8 to 10 shift at my main job, I didnt have time for ghetto fabulous so I left after the 3rd week.

Just doing nothing but moving heavy boxes for hours on end. Im not someone who minds hard work because Ive been doing it my whole life, but the amount of work I was doing for such little pay with graveyard shift hours was not worth it

Never got paid for the shift and never cared to get my check.
