Current Events > This year I'm not feeling very thankful

It's one week until Thanksgiving which means it's 53 weeks until next Thanksgiving and this year I don't exactly have much to be thankful about. My car has a leak in it and my mechanic hasn't gotten back to me, my toothbrush and my phone are dying, the vacuum cleaner I bought broke down shortly after using it and as such the flea extermination in my apartment has been postponed much to the chagrin of me and my cat.

Sure I've still got a roof over my head and a fridge full of food but I don't think the bare minimum of my human rights being met is worth celebrating. Being aware of how many people don't is one thing but that alone doesn't make me festive.

despite losing my dad to cancer as well as 2 jobs, I'm thankful I'm alive and haven't given up and that I have support from family. I'm going to be starting a new job soon.
