Basically, I parked at this Bapist Church, barely any people there, plenty of parking, and I only parked there so I can rush to the gas station across the street real quick to get something(faster than driving there since I would have to drive up to make a u-turn), by the time I get back, which was no later than 10 min, this old man was standing in front of my car, so I was like "oh great" when I got to my car he was like " Why are you parking in private property!?" I just completely ignored the old man and drove off, I think he was recording me on his cell phone?

I don't get it, why get angry over something so stupid? Even if it is private property, I only parked there for like 10 minutes....and why record me?

Was there a sign indicating you couldn't park there if you weren't a patron of the church's services or otherwise affiliated with the church? If not the old bastard can fuck himself.

After leaving? No, officers can't cite you for a violation they weren't present for (prevents hearsay). But if you were spotted as you parked there and walked across the street, absolutely. Most private lots have signs posted saying you can't park there unless you're a patron. In most cases, nothing happens, but I'd rather just make a u-turn than deal with the potential hassle.
