The media is portraying society like some violent blood thirsty world.

When in reality when I go out nothing really pops off and nobody is really looking to throw down.

I really can't tell who's a friendly or not and the media says shit can turn in a instance so I'm like always have my guard up because of the paranoia but then some people play with that narrative to troll me. Because regardles people like to fuck with others. But it's almost never a life or death moment.

But my paranoia makes me confused Who wants to die?

no one.

so life is hard to decipher when everyone feels suspect

I got schizoaffective. I hardly go out and when i do i bring a weapon because i live in chicago and there are questionable folk in my area. There was just a drive by the other week at a local bar my neighbor works at. I will be honest with you, from one mentally ill person to another, be careful out there and take care. Ya it aint as bad as the news makes it out to be but it is bad considering this is the best country in the world. Always stay vigilant my friend.

Schizophrenia in general is just really, really tough. The best you can do is have a close circle of a small number of people who you can trust, and then do your absolute best to know that trust is justified. Especially during times when you are feeling suspicious.

Also less stimulation and avoiding media/news/opinion pieces in general would probably help.

I used to take a schizophrenic guy back and forth to work at one of my first jobs. He was 19 and really open about it.

One day when I took him home his girlfriend was there and I said a few words to her when she met us at the car. The next day I stopped to get gas before work and he took a dagger (like one of those ceremonial satanic ones) out of his backpack and accused me of trying to steal his girl. He was into weird fantasy type shit.

I told him to chill and put it away before someone calls the cops. He quickly snapped out of it.

To this day I'm not sure if he was really going to kill me or just playing with the dagger. He didn't rush me with it or anything but was like twirling around talking crazy shit.

How did he even get a girlfriend? I can't even ask a girl out without getting super psychotic thinking guys are cock blocking me. so it'll probably never happen but yeah he was probably getting psychotic about you talking to his girl.
