I really hope the other spider men aren't just there for a final battle, I want some downtime with them.

This is honestly my number one most requested aspect of the movie, and the more is revealed the more unlikely its looking unfortunately.

This trailer pretty much confirmed that Tobey/Andrew are only gonna be in the final construction scaffolding Sinister Six fight, if theyre gonna be in the movie at all (Im still slightly skeptical theyre gonna be in it at all tbh)

I really wanted them to be actual full on supporting characters with downtime though

Im excited, but Im gonna get my hopes down. This movie is gonna have the Mortal Kombat 2 syndrome where fights lasted 10 seconds. That's what happens when you have too many villains in a 3 hour movie.

If anything, they show up at the end of the penultimate battle, they have a couple scenes together to regroup and get ready for the actual final fight, and then they leave after that's done.

And that's being optimistic.

Maybe, but I wanted some full on casual dialogue between all 3 Spider-Men and not just them shouting to each other in the heat of the moment at the final battle, and a farewell back to our universe conversation afterwards.

It would be great for us as the audience to catch up on what both Andrew and Tobeys Peter Parker have been doing since their last movies, have them hand down some advice to Holland and such etc.

Thats probably too much to ask for though, in the end itll probably be just small (but important) cameos for the final fight scene

I wonder if Sony are allowed to make Spider-Man 4 or if their agreement with Disney rules it out.

I'd much rather them go back and use the Raimiverse or multiverse stuff like Spider-Gwen than stupid shit like Mobius and Silver Sable.

I'm guessing the other Spideys are gonna come thru during the final fight scene when Strange says he cant hold them back or whatever. I hope the 6th villain is an villain from this universe's Spider-Man's universe (there's probably a better way to say that lmao).

Also I'm hoping the leak encouraged Marvel/ Sony to keep the other two spidey's a secret. Everyone knows its gonna happen, psyche us out and just save it for the movie. It would make up for Civil War's blunder.

Also yeah the editors definitely goofed in the one minute long international trailers

The money shot of Spidey vs Electro, Sandman and Lizard looked sus enough in the U.S. version with Lizard and Electro not even looking at Tom

But Lizard getting hit by an invisible enemy should be enough confirmation for even the staunchest non-believers in regards to Tobey and Andrew who apparently will appear one hour into the movie and be co-leads from then on

I like to keep expectations in check. So yeah, cynicism can be annoying but it keeps me from being disappointed.

From a screenwriting and storytelling standpoint, that would just be an incredibly silly move on their part. Kevin Feige isn't dumb. He (and a lot of the people working on this movie) knows a big draw for this movie for a lot of people is the inclusion of Tobey and Andrew (as evident by the fact that they're going to so much trouble to edit them out of the trailer). Having it where their only appearance is at the end battle would make very little sense. They're definitely going to have a significant presence.

Also another thing I just realized: there could be a multiverse anomaly glitch kind of deal that mutates each of the multiverse villains. Like Doc Ock getting red arms, Electro being yellow now instead of blue, Goblin getting a new suit without the helmet etc.

Kind of like how in Into the Spider-Verse had the glitch thing happen to Peter B Parker since he was in a different universe.

Just speculation though, would be cool to see how the other villains change up if true

I think it's entirely possible. It might be them coming through when Strange says he can't hold them back anymore. They think they're screwed but it's when they even the odds.

Could be around for after the battle before returning home too. Maybe some hints they'll be back again in the future for something else. Sony would love that.

I dunno I'd much rather expect them to barely be in the movie and be surprised if they're in it more.

It doesn't add or subtract anything to them just showing up at the end. Tom can easily figure out the villains are lying or gets betrayed by the time they show up.

Possibly true. But I feel like half of it is because his movies spend too much time guest-starring other characters like Tony or Strange (or in this case, better versions of himself).

Plus, we get too much cringey Disney MCU "humor." Tobey's movies really felt down to Earth and had Peter be relatable, while Andrew's painted him as the sort of quippy and charismatic kinda dude Spidey is. They felt more honest.

Tom Holland's Peter is basically a trust fund kid who can't keep a secret for shit and runs to the other Avengers whenever a situation turns up. And when he's not doing that, he needs to be actively forced into being a hero by Nick Fury or something.
