This new sword feels like a blatant, shameless attempt to make everyone want to roll for Albedo.

Well good job MiHoYo, because it totally worked on me. I had almost zero interest in him a week ago but now I'm going to spend all my rolls on his banner.

While I agree, in all fairness Albedo's biggest problem up until now was that there basically wasn't any gear specifically designed for his scaling. When your best weapon is a 3-star sword, there's a problem.

Basically all other 5-star characters have custom weapons just for them (usually 5-star weps, but still). Except the Standard Banner 5-stars, of course.

That's true. BUT I bet that a lot of the reason that they went this route instead of giving him a 5 star weapon is because they looked at his poor performance before and decided that they needed to give us something that would make us all really want him. Whereas a limited 5 star weapon would have just led to people not wanting to spend on either banner (well maybe the weapon banner just for Eula).

The biggest deal about the new sword is that it doesn't have a HP condition like HoD. This wasn't historically a problem until those bleeding wolves came out and damage your backline.

I agree. Although I do think it's good that MiHoYo also seems to be making concerted efforts towards improving 5-star characters that are under-utilized or under-performing.

Would like to see changes to kits, though. Particularly Qiqi's.

Qiqi's kit is actually fine just needs better numbers on the elemental skill. Can be easily fixed with a weapon or something. Right now most people use sacrificial sword which is bad for both damage and healing.

We need a weapon that does something like:

Atk% substat
When healing nearby party members generates 1 particle not more than once every 1.5s. Collecting Elemental Particles increases entire party's attack by 10% 5s duration no stacks.

My one real issue with Kokomi is her party healing. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or what, but even during her burst she just doesn't heal the party all that quickly. It's weird.

But a hydro turret that also heals and procs off-field DPS characters like Fischl / Raiden / Albedo is super nice.

During burst, it's 1200+ HP 1-2x every second for full group.
Together with the jellyfish AoE healing, it adds up pretty quick

Optimally, you just do this loop:
normal 1 -> normal 2 -> cancel
And the cancel can be dash into large enemy (no delay), or dash, or a jump. Careful not to cancel the second attack before it comes out.

What I'm curious about, what is the optimal loop for tasing though? Normal 1 -> Normal 2, or Normal+Charged+Cancel?

I've been doing that; the only thing I might need to change is maybe I should try a healing percentage helm instead of an HP percentage helm?

Honestly, I wish she had a burst heal of some kind. But to be fair I haven't had anyone die because of her healing style.

Yeah, I asked Mihoyo to make jelly movable (automatically towards Kokomi, Oz refresh or burst reposition) and for a Sayu-style immediate group heal on burst.

For me her e is doing around 7800 per tick. And burst basically heals to full after a few attacks. Of course her HP is 42000+

Yeah but the jelly is single target in single player.
I imagine it's crazy good with clam in coop though, coz it'd max the bubble with 3 or 4 players in range.

Serpent Spine and Blackcliff Slasher are both good since Eula is EXTREMELY hypercarry stat dependent.

Lithic Blade is pretty good too if your other three party members are from Liyue.

Eula is the most gear-dependent main DPS in the game other than Noelle, IMO. Her hypercarry scaling is very back-loaded (it goes up a lot at higher investment tiers)

Now if you'll excuse me, my Tartaglia, Raiden and Albedo have some Geo gear to farm

I ran the pale flame domain last night. At one point with condensed resin I got 4 5* and 3 were milliteth. I think 5 runs I got 3 pale flame pieces and 10 milliteth.

they really need to do something with artifact RNG.

the amount of RNG to get a correct piece is fucking borderline predatory. They need to rotate the sets like they do talent books and weapon materials.

Artifact farming is so depressing I feel like Im throwing my resin away. Im still farming EoSF for Raiden but I cant get a half decent ER Sands or Crit rate circlet to drop.

Theres way too much RNG involved and Im not even going to waste my primos wishing for Itto when I cant even use him for another 6 months. This shit is so frustrating.

What pisses me off is that I managed to get a near-flawless Qiqi clam set (wtf) and a pretty close to flawless Kokomi set (still need healing helm but whatevs).

But Albedo's set? DEF for days, but almost no CR or CD -_-

I'd love to get an Opulent Dreams set for my Noelle, but it's gonna be hard to match my Gladiator's set in substats.

Settling for a def goblet with decent subs until I can get a geo one, but at least my C2 Albedo has an ok set now. 1.1k atk, 3k def, 128/53 crit, his natural 28.8 geo along with the geo boost from the set effect should be good enough for now.

Finally did it. 36 stars in the abyss with Noelle as full main dps. Having a good geo battery to keep her Ult up nearly 100% of the time made a huge difference.

FINALLY my bad luck ended.
Got 2 or 3 great Kokomi artifacts today (hydro goblet with ER that kept upgrading into HP%!), so I'm pretty close to finally swapping from 2 Maiden 2 HoD to 4x Clam.

Considering I play Coop a lot for fun, it's gonna be great showing off her constant max bubble bursts (jelly on 3+ players)

I've seen plenty of people post that no one should have a stockpile of fragile resin because they should be using it to upgrade their artifacts to god-tier levels. Today, I burned through a half dozen of them in rapid succession and have fuck all to show for it. I conclude, therefore, that you're never going to "get lucky" with the limited amount of fragile they give you. The only way to beat the system is to pay for resin refreshes.

Separate thought: I have two accounts that if I were able to merge would be pretty fucking good. I would even be willing to pay for that. Would never happen, of course, but a guy can dream.

Theres nothing but odds against you when it comes to domains and artifacts.

its the biggest ripoff in the game and the ridiculous amount of layers of RNG makes it the worst use of resin by far. And unfortunately its one of the major ways to build your team.

I used to get a lot of appropriate main stat pieces. Now I get an overwhelming amount of crap like def%, hp% and healing% pieces for characters who cant want or use them.

Just looking at that new Itto claymore, I suspect Noelle will probably hit for about 35k with good gear investment and that claymore. She'll almost certainly scale beyond Diluc, Keqing, Klee, etc especially in AOE situations. If for no other reason than her Ult being up so long, having interrupt resist, with her own built-in shield/healing.

You can spend money and still get nothing but trash.

The only way to really "beat the system" in gachas is patience. Focus on what you want and work at it steadily.

That's why I stopped doing binge artifact runs. If I'm going to do something that boring and repetitive, I at least want to know I'll have something to show for it. I only burn through resin stockpiles for talent or weapon upgrade materials.

And I make it a routine to just do a set of 5 artifact runs every day or two. That way it feels like less of a slog. Also I don't get as frustrated if I don't get anything good, and I feel lucky if I do. I have enough spare artifacts to give decent sets to all the characters I use regularly anyway, so I can handle the wait.

If you can't handle waiting, you shouldn't play gachas. That's how they get you.

The fact of the matter is that the game itself has no actual meta.

Even the Spiral Abyss is stupidly easy. I can 36-star the entire thing using only 4-star characters (in fact, arguably the best characters in the game are 4-star anyway).

Even Main DPS, the category with the heaviest domination by 5-stars, has perfectly viable options - Yanfei, Ningguang and Noelle can all be on-par (or better) than Diluc.
