It's impossible, as the weights are not consistent with each other. When you figure out what one of them is, instead of just substituting it into one of the remaining equations, try substituting it into both, and you'll see the two don't match up.

Therefore the actual answer is the game.

Solution:

Dog + Rabbit = 20

Dog + Cat = 24

Therefore, the cat weights 4 more than the rabbit

Cat + Rabbit = 10

Solve for the cat:
C +(C - 4) = 10
2C -4 = 10
2C = 14
C = 7

If the cat is 7, we can now solve for the others:

C + R = 10
7 + R = 10
R = 3

C + D = 24
7 + D = 24
D = 17

C = 7
R = 3
D = 17

7 + 3 + 17 = 27

i'd like to think most people learn how to solve this math problem in middle school algebra.

and this one is so simple that i'm pretty sure plenty of kids can logic it out well before then, too.
