Haven't drank since 1/8/21, but I've had a horrible day, was weak, and bought myself a bottle. I've been fighting it for a few weeks now, but I caved in.

I would never sit here and tell any of you that I'm an alcoholic. I had a few rough nights drinking and make the choice to stop drinking when I couldn't remember what happened the night before. I've seen real alcoholics and the struggles they go through and I can't sit here and say I'm going through those sorts of withdraws.

However, I am really unhappy with myself now.

Id say the fact that you realize the danger of the relapse and your awareness of it is far more important than the relapse itself. It means you actually care about your sobriety.

Thank you

Yeah, I started to notice that I was going down that path very quickly and stopped myself. I wanted to never drink again, but here I am. Yesterday I almost got a bottle, but I talked myself out of it. But I thought about it all day

Been in outpatient treatment and a common theme was relapse and getting back on the wagon. It happens but the important thing is finding the resolve to start again. Can't change what's been done but you can make the decision now, etc etc...

exactly. And so many struggle bc they dont realize their triggers and behaviors that lead to the addiction and tc clearly does.

its about improvement, not perfection.
