So, in the 2nd part of our English class in my liberal arts program, we had to read Kafka's Metamorphosis. There was also an essay on it. So I wrote on gender dynamics in the story, and how they apply to the gender roles the characters perform. Anyway I was also an unmedicated person experience an initial psychotic break. Things were INTENSE at the time.
So I decided to use some sociology theories to ground my paper. I explain how the different assumptions each theory makes can have different consequences for how we view people in society. So I made a REALLY dumb graph where I had one of each theory in every quadrant. I don't remember the exact reasoning behind it. But I plotted Greggor and his sister, and how as one spirals into misfortune, the other one begins to develop a provider or lead role in her family. I guess you need to know the story to know that the sister kind of replaces her brother. So I plot an X with the sister rising and the Greggor falling into a negative social state. I got an A on the paper... But what's worse is that this happened to ME and my sister. At the time of writing I had accomplished so much more but then I got sick and it was all downhill. But then she started moving forward in her life, and it looks exactly like the damn chart. I wish I still had that paper, just to see wtf I was thinking. --- "Why is ontology so expensive?" - JH [Is this live?][Joyless planet...] ... Copied to Clipboard!
