No, but I have told my bosses about useless employees before. Literally had a guy nearly electrocute someone and he kept his job. I was fucking pissed that they didn't fire him for that.

Long story short, an industrial machine we have had a frayed wire because the plug was pulled out to quick, but you wouldn't know it as it was right by the plug on the underneath. My co-worker was supposed to lock it out with a tag and a industrial service lock and he didn't do that, he went on break and didn't tell anyone that it was broken. My other co-worker comes back from his break, sees that the machine is unplugged when we are always supposed to have it plugged in and sparks flew on to his jacket scorching his jacket. Seriously could have killed the guy if the power outlet didn't fail by overloading.

I was pissed for weeks because of that. I take safety extremely seriously, and I liked almost all my coworkers in my area. Incident report and all, guy still kept his job. Only lost his job... because he sat down to tie his fucking shoes and the bitch of an assistant manager caught him doing it and claimed that he was being lazy.... tying his fucking shoes so he wouldn't trip....

fuck both of them tbh, but even he shouldn't have lost his job for tying his shoes, should have been for the other thing.

Yeah, lots of times
Sometimes people just aren't grasping the job. Other times they have attendance issues. A few times people have done a really good job and then just implode for various reasons--usually real life issues.

Anyway, I dont do it out of nowhere. Theyre given fair warning. Im respectful and everything about it. Generally if I have gotten good work out of them in the past, I will officially lay them off instead of outright firing.

Most people are cool with it. They know when they're struggling. Sometimes they'll be very understanding in person but then go home and get mad and start texting me. I just block them at that point.

I've fired many people. When I fire my own employees, I usually don't feel bad because they knew what they were doing was wrong, they were written up previously for it and they earned their termination. But I dislike firing people when they were not my employee or I didn't know them. At my old job, we had a weird structure where I had to fire bad employees who I did not manage. I guess their own manager was too busy or too chicken-shit to do it themselves. Those terminations I hated, because I was almost never given a lot of information beforehand, and if the employees I fired ever gave any pushback during the termination, I wouldn't be able to answer any questions they had or correct them.

There were a few terminations I felt bad about though. I let this one nerdy kid go for sexual harassment, but he was socially awkward as hell and wasn't aware that anything he was doing was wrong. Pretty sure he was autistic too, but I don't know if I remember that correctly. I also hated terminating people if I disagree with the reason they were being fired, but my boss or upper management ordered me to do it.

I did a few times when I was a fast food manager, the owner made the decisions when people got fired but most of the time he made me the messenger. The worst was one time we had this new lady starting out. I get her watching the training tapes. About 15 minutes in the owner calls and days he didn't want to hire her so I had to go tell her that she could go. Let's just say she was not happy.
