She's a villain but the thought of seeing this without context and thinking he's just some douchebag to a random woman is hilarious.

Gotham was amazing until Season 3 or Season 4 (season 4 spoilers just to be safe) after the
Oswald is mayor/Mad Hatter stuff it just dragged

That was season 1. I gave up on the show after that season as well, but then I have it another chance a year later and the show became really wacky and fun. Its definitely not a perfect show by any means, but I do think it was entertaining overall. You should give it another try . Ben McKenzie was great as Jim Gordon and this show had the best live action version of The Joker in my opinion

I wholeheartedly recommend watching the rest. Season one is the worst season because they're trying super hard to be srs business Gordon is solving the Wayne's murder, but it eventually becomes one of the most gloriously stupid shows I've ever fucking seen.

It's a knife connected to R'as al Ghul and Bruce is trying to research him. The attitude is just his standard billionaire playboy shtick to explain why he's bothering buying it at all, it's just more of a spoiled billionaire brat shtick since he's like fourteen.

That's too bad. By the end of the season (which you were near at that point iirc) it really embraces the insanity. It stops being just a bad show and becomes a genuinely amazingly terrible show; so terrible it becomes awesome and fun to watch.

Actually this guy says it better. Everyone is constantly chewing the scenery in this show, it's incredible.

Once you stop taking it seriously even stuff like them recasting poison ivy like three times stop being embarrassing and become hilarious, part of the joke.

It's been ages since I've seen that scene, but I imagine the fact that actual-facts billionaire Bruce Wayne is bidding makes Penguin think it's a good idea to stay on his good side as opposed to two-bit crime boss Barbara Kean who the Penguin sort of dislikes.

That's just unwatchable.

As far as the Gotham show is concerned, I agree with most people here. The show started out rough, but once it embraced its wackiness, it became much more entertaining. Mad Hatter was honestly one of the best arcs in the show.

My biggest gripe with the show was how it seemed like Bruce was in some kind of trouble and was fixing to die every week... like come on, you aren't going to kill him so quit trying to put him in these situations. It got tiring after the 100th time.

Oh yeah and not being able to call Joker Joker.

There is a scene sort of like that. It's after a time jump in the last episode. They just got out of jail and are planning a big city takeover, but they see Batman pass overhead and decide to wait until tomorrow. You don't actually see Batman in that scene, just the shadow.

Riddler and Penguin are the best part of the show FYI. Their weird half gay half crime bros relationship is just the best.
