dunno if its me or the games.. i expect the dialog and choices to go to a certain direction but it goes totally to another place, this seems to happen a lot to me lately, so many "That's not what i meant!" moments, with Cyberpunk 2077 being the latest..

This has been a thing for years, over a decade even, starting with Mass Effect. Theres always a mod that changes it to what you will say though.

its bc of voice acting. voice acting in games and its consequences have been a disaster for humanity

Ever since games started doing short blurbs where the voiced protagonist says something entirely different from what the prompt says (I'm looking at you, Bioware), I've started save-scumming like crazy to guarantee that everything they say is what I actually intend them to say, and I'll reset immediately if what they say is too different from what I wanted/intended.

Because fuck that noise. I'd rather have a completely unvoiced protagonist than one that doesn't say what I want them to.

ProZD is great, but what he's talking about is more when choices don't really matter. I think what Violet means is when the choices say one thing, and the main character says something radically different. Like this:

for the mass effect one, I can see how in context "sigh" in that case meant "I am so done wasting my time with you"
