I'm pretty sure it's going to happen, but don't know what they're going to do with it. Like, is it going to be a full on remake or just "enhanced," with better visuals? I hope we get some solid news soon

The "leak" said FFT Remaster, so I'm assuming it will just be slight graphical improvements. No way they'd do a huge remake while they're still working on FF7R Part 2, FF16, Stranger of Paradise and Forspoken.

Now Im like a recovering alcoholic who never drinks.

If its just graphics or like the PSP version, I don't care about ports... but if it's on steam and people mod it... or if they add like a Delita story or something...

It's still the best SRPG there is.

They should re-release a Remastered collection of the FFT series first, IMO. Add turbo mode to make FFTA and FFTA2 play faster than a slug too please.

I doubt it. I think they're happy with FFT: War of the Visions.

I wish it was an actual game. They've had tons of other FF characters and even had 2B/9S and Lara Croft.

I'd love to see a FFT remake in WotV style, myself. I love both of them, and Tactics taking in the improvements from WotV would elevate it to perfection.

Just make a new one. Tactic Advance was probably my favorite GBA game despite the downgrade in story, and A2 was still enjoyable despite the abysmally-bad story. Triangle Strategy might scratch the itch, but I just want a new Tactics game on the Switch with viera and nu mou and all the rest.

All I ever wanted was War of the Lions but with the original sounds/battle animation. I liked the new translation and the cleaned up sprites, but hated the sound effects and the speed at which things like magic attacks ran. It's like they saw the PSP version and how it went way too slow and massively overcompensated.

Why would you bother to remaster a ps1 game? It's still going to look ugly as hell. It would make more sense to just remake it

I have Tactics Ogre: LUCT on PSP and tried playing it once; I enjoyed it at first, but it quickly ramped up into being FFT: Trollolol Edition. Every other battle is an escort mission that puts Riovanes Rooftops to shame in how badly the odds are stacked against you, and how suicidal the AI is on the escort. I waited forever for the game to make available a basic revive spell, and it costs over 100 frickin' MP. The difficulty curve ramped up so fast that my toughest characters were only doing single-digit damage to enemies, and my only option for leveling was random encounters with a swarm of undead warriors that I literally could not kill fast enough before they regenerated (because unlike FFT, it's a 100% certainty that undead will revive after three rounds, not just a chance).

I'm not exactly new to how SRPGs work, so either there was some fundamental aspect of the game that eluded me, or the people who claim that LUCT is the GOAT are so far above my head skill-wise that I shouldn't even bother trying to reach their level.

The PSP version is probably the worst version. It changed and added a ton of shit to the game, arguably not for the best.

A ton of class skills. Should be cool, but most are absolutely obnoxious to level up.

Tying levels to job classes, instead of characters. So, I hope you don't want to enjoy your new unique characters right out of the gate. Those White Knights who have finally joined you will be at level 1.

And the extremely tedious crafting system for gear and items.

Also, for those Undead, if you don't want them to get back up, you need to have a cleric permanently remove them with Exorcism.

Appreciate the advice. If I ever try the game again I'm definitely pouring through a FAQ so that I don't get stuck past the the point of being able to salvage the playthrough.

And now that you mention it, I do remember Exorcism being necessary. It just had such a low success rate that I never had enough turns / couldn't keep my exorcists alive long enough for it to actually make a difference.

Yech. I played LUCT after playing WotL and it just made me wish I was replaying WotL. LUCT had the superior story, but its gameplay was boring and stale compared to WotL.

Those escort missions are challenges, you don't need to actually save the escorted person, the game doesn't end if they die but the story changes. You can save them in the NG+ equivalent later on. There's also items and spells that kill undead forever, the character that has that spell by default is introduced the same mission undead first appear.

As long as it gets released on Switch, I don't care what other platforms it gets released on. As far as my tastes go, this series was practically made for handhelds.
