I don't like driving into town and I had a doc appointment on Friday so i was like can I get the booster shot and flu shot at the same time?

They were like, sure!!! No problem.

Big problem.

Dear freaking lord the effect of the booster shot were horrible this time, felt like my right arm was being pounded by a sledge hammer for the last 24 hours (now it's just really sore) but worse it was so bad it caused my muscled in my back to spasm and my back went totally out (couldn't even really turn in bed). I still have a massive horrible headache as well (may be due to not eating since around 11 am on friday).

That was a VERY bad decision, although it's only speculation that the cause was getting both shots together, perhaps it would have been just as bad with just the booster shot. I can't imagine people are going through that and it's not being talked about though (Admittedly not everyone has a bad back which certainly made it much worse).

Even without the back though it was very painful, with a horrible headache that would have knocked me out for the last day easily (couldn't answer the phone, get out of bed etc).

Blah, least I seem to be getting better now (obviously since I'm on here).

I think helIy made a topic about this. He either said you you arent suppose to get them at the same time. Or possibly said you have to get them in different arms. But I only skimmed that topic, IIRC

Anyway, hope you feel better soon I got my flu shot today, and am just kind cold. But I should be fine tomorrow Or rather, later today

Well fuck, it looks like I won the severe pain lottery, added in with my back that sucked hard.

Severe pain (defined as pain that makes daily activities difficult or impossible) was reported by 637 (6.7 percent)," reports the health body.
Generally, the CDC report found that people who'd received three doses of either Pfizer or Moderna saw more local reactions after the third dose.

I mean 6.7 fucking percent if pretty freaking large to not warn people about and it's almost impossible to find that data. I know they want everyone to get the shots but jesus christ, they could have given a pain pill perscription or something just in case. That seriously sucked.

Just be warned ya'll if you get the 3rd shot, set things up so you are ok if you can't move much etc (most probably won't have the back issue so it would just be extreme pain I guess).

I really hate how they are handling some of this crap, it's like they don't give a fuck as long as you get the shot.

They did do it in different arms. It may not have been related to getting both it seems as I looked it up (wasn't easy to find) and almost 7% of people who get the 3rd shot experience severe pain. I'm sure there is a range for that as well, as mine was significant. What is worse is I have degenerative disc disease and I manage it by sleeping on my side, and being careful how I bend over etc, but the muscle spasms and pain in my right arm set off the muscles in my back as well, basically I was just in a world of pain and unable to move for over 24 hours.

It's over, but yeah, I would really really have liked to not experience that.

I think the splitting headache I had was a combination of the booster shot side effects and caffeine withdrawal. I had been only drinking water for two days when Im used to drinking soda almost all the time.

I mean, how was I to know that I needed to ask if there was a greater then 1 in 20 chance I would have severe pain as a side effect? Pretty sure they should freaking tell you about the possibility. I do think they basically said it would be the same as the second shot, which wasn't bad at all.

In all seriousness, my wife got both at the same time without any issue.

She had Pfizer, though.
