Literally no one wants Overwatch 2.

The player base, for the most part, likes Overwatch as-is. Add some new maps, it's not fucking rocket science.

The player base REALLY just wants better optimization and for their favorite character not to get hit with a giant nerf bat.

For example, I used to main Soldier as dps, but they fundamentally changed how his bullet pattern worked.... after like 5 years. So fuck me if I prefered the old soldier.

Additionally everyone is so tanky in OW.

I pretty much moved on to Valorant at this point.

Blizzard is actually garbage, and Square Enix went scorched Earth rebuilding Final Fantasy XIV into something people actually enjoy playing. 2 weeks is nothing in the grand scheme of things.

This. SE actually gave a good reason for the delay, and acknowledged people might have already scheduled time off for it but still thought it was for the best and as such had to take responsibility for the issue.

Blizzard hasn't shown shit in ages besides 'here is a written explanation of the way we will revamp this character in the next game' shit.

I don't really know much about FF or Square, but I did read the statement about the FF expansion being delayed and it was super apologetic, the guy apologised and explained why they were delaying it (although it did give off vibes of "I just couldn't help myself, I worked too hard to make it super amazing, I'm so sorry!"). Plus it's only two weeks. Compared to Overwatch, whose community has been left to die. I wouldn't be surprised if Overwatch 2 ends up being cancelled to be honest.

I'd be okay with that. OverWatch 2 felt like just a glorified expansion for OverWatch that they could have just rolled into OverWatch, but they wanted to start a new ecosystem and monetization.
