What did you think they were gonna do? Recast? They've already established a precedent for mantle passing with Cap, Black Widow, Thor, and (most likely) Iron Man.

EDIT: Plus Shuri was already BP at one point in the comics, so this isn't even a novel decision.

They shouldn't follow the comics in this regard. Among the main cast of the 1st movie Letitia Wright is by far one the weakest actor/actresses when it comes to acting ability. On top of that she's been making controversial comments for a while now. They shouldn't reward her with the lead role when they have the likes of Lupita Nyong'o and Winston Duke they could turn to instead.

Friendly reminder that this movie is in memory of Chadwick, who donated money to hospitals so they could be better equipped to handle people suffering from COVID...

And the lead is a woman who's actively pushing a stance that is helping COVID thrive.

Edit: Glad I'm not the only one that thinks Winston or Lupita would be better BPs.

Why would I come into a thread asking questions to get people modded? That runs counter to the fact that moderations ultimate purpose is to encourage positive interaction on the boards

as far as i know, it's still a rumor. but if they're filming already then things might have leaked. but i'm now two movies behind so i've been avoiding any places with significant spoiler risks.

edit: or worse, this is actually a spoiler from Shang-Chi or Eternals. but i think that'd be big enough news that i would have seen it badly hidden in a yahoo story title.

Shuri was easily the least interesting character from the Black Panther side of things. Only reason I can think they'd go with her is that since she's young, it'd be easier to keep her attached to the MCU for a while.
