That review kinda made me decide to buy a game that I didnt have a ton of interest in beforehand. The negatives being brought up in the review seemed like positives to me. Been 10+ years since I last played a Monkey Ball game, and this legit looks like a lot of fun.

76% on metacritic and 88% of Google users liked it.

From watching the gameplay it looks faithful to what its trying to recreate.

Personally, I was never a huge fan of solo Monkey Ball but it is one of the best party franchises by far; a lot of fun memories playing that with family back on GameCube.

i mean idk about "too much content" but some of the levels really are just a single ridiculous object you basically slam your head against 1000 times until you get that perfect lucky angle. i wouldn't say it's too hard, but rather the stages just devolve into dumb shit

Tbh it is pretty damn hard lol and the camera will give you a headache. Also the flying mini game is fucking impossible.

There's a pause button in the beginning of the stage to pause the blue goal and easily beat the stage.

It's not though. World 4 in SMB2 was full of that stuff. I remember getting frustrated by it as a kid

the non-blue goals are optional and typically stupid like that, but it does want you to get them all

I don't think it makes sense to complain about an optional bonus challenge thing. Monkey Ball does have a really high skill cap to master if you want to beat everything. I know what you're trying to say - just the IGN reviewer though is complaining about crazy unreal difficulty as if it's a basic component of the game.

Yeah and you have to land on a platform by flying to it. I spent like an hour trying to even get to a platform before giving up lol

i think it's fair to complain about it when they just decide to slap a geometric shape that spins at 120 mph in midair and call it a level. i'm stuck at the dual spirals or whatever on the washing machine world (lol) and it's really just not fun after a while

We played the crap out of that one on the GameCube version back in the day! So eventually I got pretty good at it, but even then yeah it was very frustrating lol.

I remember one time I accidentally opened my wings right at the top of the ramp and the match wouldnt end until my monkey fell into the void or water or whatever so I had to watch my character slowly and pitifully skate down the entire ramp for like 3 minutes with my brothers girlfriend fucking dying with laughter the whole time lmao
