Well the thing is we ALL want the sex trafficker boyfriend to face justice. Like, there is no debate there. Lock him up for many years, life, whatever....he is a sex trafficker. Who cares about him?

We're concerned about the support for vigilante justice and all of the negative things that can potentially come from vigilante justice. What if the father had wrong information? what if he got the wrong guy? I feel like vigilante justice makes society worse if it gets normalized. It used to be more normalized than it is today, and from taking a US history class, we can see how wrong that was.

False. Violence should be a last resort, but to say it's never the right option is very naive.

An argument can certainly be made that the father had more options, but some things are only solved by being... unpleasant.

Yes. Cyric also did this, to the same person.

To summarize: Cyric brought it up saying he's 'always seeking sympathy', Sk8 got rightfully annoyed and called him out on it. They argued for a few pages, then Cyric says "she would be ashamed of you."

Cyric gets warned. Then comes back and says he felt awful about it, cries a damn river...then says he won't apologize because he was goaded into it. Straight victim blaming. But don't worry, he feels awful about it. His stomach was in knots.

Basically, Cyric feels bad he was warned for it. He doesn't feel bad about the stuff he says, unless he gets in trouble for it. Then he's crying and oh so remorseful about the whole thing.

You can tell who in this thread don't have children. Because they have to understand, as a parent, the thought of anyone harming your kids makes your blood boil. And when someone actually DOES harm your kids, you stop thinking and your primal instincts kick in. For the people in this thread who don't understand this and are condemning the father outright, when you become a parent you will totally understand.
