$300 billion divided by 7 billion people.
Hold on... about $43. Dumb typos.

He'd have to set up sustainable farms globally and figure out the logistics to get it where it needs to go.

So, i guess he could, but it's essentially setting up an entire business that feeds everyone and destroys those involved in the food industry. It's probably a bigger undertaking than electric cars and his level of space travel.

"World hunger" affects 1 in 9 people, according to the WHO, not all 7 billion humans.

Hypothetically, though it would take more than 6 billion probably.

Realistically, being a billionaire disqualifies you from caring about people enough to be motivated to attempt it.

I do not believe that Elon Musk could solve world hunger specifically because he is Elon Musk.

And the UN calculates that people in extreme poverty could be fed with $160 per person, per year, so his wealth would feed people for just over 2 years.

I'd be down for that for sure, during those hypothetical two years of Musk fighting off world hunger we could perhaps improve the world so we can permanently get rid of it.

Even if we can't, a lot of people's lives will be greatly improved by no longer facing the fear of starvation.

The UN also calculates that people in such poverty would need about 15 years to get back on their feet and sustain themselves (presumably so that babies currently in a state of starvation can actually survive to a reasonable working age).

So we'd need a Musk, a Bezos, a Gates, and a few others to get the world back on track.

It's a different world now. Most hunger isn't caused by Mugabe-esque warlords, it's caused by climate change and a lack of infrastructure, and because whole communities have been left to collapse after being decimated by people like Mugabe.

thing about world hunger is that it's not really about food production, it's about distribution.
people go hungry while at the same time, tons of food is rotting in warehouses somewhere.

maybe a shit ton of money can solve that

Maybe a shit ton of money from a guy who specializes in transportation?

I mean, I dont think he alone can fix it, but I dare him to try his best
