Amazing start and an amazing finish but everything in between is just kinda meh. Those highs are enough for me to give it an 8.

As a character-focused drama it's really beautiful and human, and it also works as a surprisingly deep critique of modern society. I feel like Itoi just really gets video games and how the medium can be used for storytelling.

I honestly can't remember much about the middle portion of the game. It didn't leave a very big impression on me. But the beginning and ending are worth my score.
