Some Christians truly believe this vaccine is the mark of the beast. Because in the original translation, the mark of the beast was 616 (as opposed to 666). The Roman Numeral for 616 is DCXVI, and if you replace X with O and rearrange the letters slightly you get COVID.

Problem: Revelation says the mark will be placed on your right hand, or your forehead. I for one got both vaccine shots in my left arm.

But I would guess that the people who refuse to get the vaccine because of "Jesus" would say:

"If you have a Plan B, then you're not wholly putting your faith in Plan A, and God only rewards those whose faith is complete towards him. You wouldn't worship false gods or idols as a Plan B for if Christianity isn't the true religion, would you? Same concept"

But again, I'm just guessing.

But I think these people you're talking about, who reject the vaccine for these reasons, are boogeymen. They don't exist, or if they do, they exist in insignificantly small numbers.

It's scary how people interpret the will of God sometimes.

It would be significantly better, but not ideal, since while the virus is still spreading and replicating, there's always a chance there'll be another variant.

Well, the mark of the beast is said to prohibit anyone from buying or selling unless they have it (Rev 13:16,17). Sort of like how, in some places, you're forbidden from shopping unless you have a vaccine pass.

Surely you can see the resemblance, can't you?

This is not what my religion believes the mark of the beast is, but I can see the logic.

We don't live in the middle ages anymore, people should really really really stop letting religion dominate their lives.

Fine you choose to believe in God, but GOD wouldn't want you to contribute to the death of innocent people by spreading an otherwise easy to quarantine virus.

If anything not getting vaccinated should seriously be considered a sin, if that doesn't sway the minds of these religious folks

It's not easy to quarantine. The virus mutates, and the vaccine becomes less effective.

the virus does mutate, but the most effective way to stop the spread of the disease is we prevent people from mass gathering/limiting their activities. As long as it's enforced, the virus will eventually die down as it won't have a new host to infect, so long as people don't contribute to the spread of virus by gathering in the masses, allowing the virus to become genetically unique as it jumps from person to person.

Looking at it from a half informed bible thumping perspective it makes sense

But not quite however as it must be a mark on the right hand or forehead if I remember right. Moreover, you're still allowed to buy or sell, the only restriction is a mask which doesn't fall in line with Revelations

The interpretations are interesting to me but unfortunately I've heard this mark of the beast talk too often. I'm afraid I'll have to sit down with my mother sometime because she takes this stuff very seriously (she got vaccinated though, thank God)
