I've been thinking about this from time to time, just to get some interview experience.

I've been with the same company for 15 years, so when i think about leaving the company, I feel like I have no experience with interviewing outside of it.

So I feel like taking random interview with companies/fields I'm not qualified for/jobs I don't want, just to kind of keep me ready, might be a good way to go

Anyone ever done this?

There was one where the only thing I liked about it was the pay.

No, interviews suck, and I wouldn't subject myself to them unless necessary.

kinda. I applied for a different position at the same company to leverage a promotion or move to a new spot. it worked, they promoted me.

I've never done this.

I guess it could help but it would be more helpful and a better use of your time to prepare and research for the job you would want and then do the interviews with the stakes being you actually could get the job or not.
