and it's a fucking blast. I'm having more fun with this version of the GotG than the MCU's version. The dialogue and humor is actually pretty flarking (you're going to hear this a lot) hilarious, the story is actually super interesting, and the music just adds to the experience. The only cons I'm having so far is the combat, it's not bad but it's pretty surface level. Basically think of FFXV, but more refined. It's not deep and there isn't a whole lot of customization you can do with the characters, but it's still decently fun. Nitpicky reasons, it does have some graphical bugs and glitches but it's not game breaking like in Marvel Avengers.

It's actually pretty amazing, I really do wonder if Marvel Avengers was designed to be a single player game... it might've been so much better than having a half assed GaaS in there.

I'll do say this though, I have a friend who hates it when games talk a lot and this game talks A LOT! Teammates are always giving commentary and quips to each other, even when walking so if that is not your cup of tea I would say to skip this game. To me, I didn't mind it because it adds a lot of character and fun to exploring, even if it's pretty linear. I like that different dialogue trees can actually have an effect on gameplay and how you tackle the level and the little changes it does to the story.

I feel like the combat really finds it's own once you unlock everyone's ultimate, which is unfortunately near the end of the game.

I just wish there was areas they mixed up enemies more.

You can also change up the difficulty and customize it to RIDICULOUS degrees, which I'm excited to toy around with when they patch NG+.

I've actually laughed out loud quite a few times at it. The characters and dialogue are great and like you said I might prefer them to the MCU versions.

I'm having a blast too! The humor is spot on, their banter back and forth is alot of fun. They talk alot during battles but some times I'm more concentrated on the battle so I don't really pay attention to what they say

I love GotG, read all the comics, the movies and animated series and the Telltale game. I'm hoping the next Avengers game stick to this, it's so much better. In fact I'm hoping more games do this, give a full effort in making a fun single player not a live service or mp thrown in.

I heard they're not gunna make any DLC for this game but I wish they would.

Glad its getting positive buzz because this has me interested now. Had zero interest before but seeing as Im knee deep in Cyberpunk and then there is SMT V next week, and possibly Pokmon the week after, Im waiting for a steep sale here.

Oh shit, I thought this topic died lol

I just beated the game last night and yeah my opinion on the gameplay definately went up. When given more options, the battles get more intense. With that said, the final boss in this game was kind of whatever (or just underwhelming in general), but the writing and dialogues was consistently great from start to end. I really hope in future sequels to this game they follow a more FF7Re approach and allow to switch on the fly to each character, in the middle of the fight, to get control so it feels like you're actually fighting in a team.

I think the biggest reason I like this game a lot because I can tell there was a lot of love put into this project than say something like Marvel Avengers where it was half assed. It's like when Telltale games made GoT, where they were severely limited in what they could do with the story, and The Wolf Among Us where they were given much more creative freedom in how to tackle the story.

I still stand that if you get annoyed about characters contantly talking while you're "exploring" and want a game with "unique and innovative gameplay", you should probably skip this game.

This game surprisingly made Drax the GOAT and Rocket into the most annoying member lol.

Rocket becomes completely unable to show empathy for a few chapters for no real reason.

Drax is awesome in this game, and some of the optional conversations with him are among the best emotional moments in the game (of which there's quite a few, and they're all pretty well done IMO)
