This is the time of the year where they start creeping in a lot more than usual.

Their entire purpose is to just sneak into your home and find somewhere to die. Most insects I try to lead back outside. These? I kill them on sight. I hate them so much.

My old condo was crawling with them, would always find huge ones upside down every now and then.

Called so many exterminators and did so many DIYs, could not get rid of them, eventually sold the place because I got so sick of seeing them around.

I clean the fuck out of my place regularly. They creep in whenever they feel like it. Its been like that everywhere I've lived.

Regular roached are at least attracted by food or something. Cockroaches just come in like they own the place.

Georgia.
I've seen them my entire life, almost everywhere I've lived.

Where I am now, I can go months without seeing one, to catching two or so a week.

Our cockroaches fly

We call them "tree roaches", they'll find their way inside the house every so often. If I see one I'm not going to bed until I kill it. Still, as annoying as they are I'd rather see the occasional tree roach instead of the tiny German cockroaches (food roaches), the latter means a person is not keeping their place clean.

My place is clean and I get the German ones. Have to have the place sprayed every few months. Its an old ass house though and I live 20 yards from a national forest

Just looked them up though and it could be a different one that I get

They want the warmths. So just snuggle with them.

I like how you mentioned putting insects outside etc, but not them. lol, even if you did, they'd be back in shortly after. Damn things can wedge through any crevice and life finds a way.

It's a real thrill when they take flight. I've personally had the honor of having seperate ones flight into my head, land on my chest, climb my arm. ... yeah

Borax tablets and liquid bait should keep them at bay. They like moist, damp areas, and obviously areas where food is out in the open. Place the traps around there.

Indoor roaches =/= outdoor roaches. Also, there's dozens upon dozens of species of roaches, yet most people treat cockroaches as one single insect.

Outdoor roach species are typically the large ones, or the ones that fly around. They don't infest buildings. With a few exceptions, them getting into your house is harmless, like getting a moth in your house, no big deal.

Indoor roach species are almost always German or brown-banded cockroaches, which are generally smaller and the nasty ones that infest buildings and spread germs.
While a lot of cruddy buildings have them, you don't necessarily get them from being unclean. Any home can get roaches, and they're generally transported from place to place via boxes or luggage. You don't just randomly get them from outside since they don't do well at reproducing in the great outdoors. They live almost exclusively in buildings where they're protected.

@TC, just buy glue traps. They're usually enough unless you have a legitimate infestation. If not, call your local pest control company

This topic gives me PTSD. I had an infestation of the things in a Houston, TX apartment 3 years ago.

Went to the bathroom in the morning once. Stepped on something that felt round and weird. I look down, and it's a roach on its back. UGH.

Another time I went to my kitchen sink at 5 AM in the morning for a glass of water. I turn on the lights and guess what I see...a giant asshole of a roach dying on its back in the sink.

Burn them all.

Purchase some spiders, and let them loose around the house. They will hunt and kill all the bugs.
