Well, the Deadpool character felt like a slap in the face to comic characters anyway, so humor fits the character (even if they didn't do it perfectly, I do think DP should be grittier than what we saw in the movies).

But Venom... was the symbiote supposed to be so funny in the comics? Obviously the nature of what it is does lend itself to certain jokes... but man... thats like most of its dialogue in the films. It's the comic relief of the films.

They picked the guy from Star Trek Nemesis. Bane. Its cool. If they throw him into the MCU, I think it could be cool.

and we can forget these Venom movies for the most part. 2 sucks

Venom actually was a bit of a goofball in the comics.

I don't think he was quite "go to a rave and party" goofy though.

Casting is good, I like him as Eddie. I like the idea of Harrelson as Carnage, in fact Carnage is my favorite Marvel villain. But you're right, unfortunately that movie was not good.

Where did we get Natural Born Killers or even No Country For Old Men or anything? Its like they werent sure if they were The Dark Knight or The Mask, but they banked on getting credit for touching on the material & promising MCU adventures for Venom? I didnt like the first one enough to tolerate that.

Cape & mask jokes arent enough to drive Carnage, who inhabits 50% of the movie. Id say you can turn it off in the first hour, but the good stuff all takes place after the final battle. Shes a dud, jim.
