Animorphs and Goosebumps tend to be brought up here all the time, but I never see anyone talk about Redwall. Was obsessed with the books and cartoon growing up.

Speaking of the cartoon, it's theme song was a bop:

Netflix has the rights to the series now, but I haven't heard much about what they're doing with it.

I swear, Brian Jacques made what's essentially vegetarian slop sound so delicious. I begged my mom to make us Hotroot soup as a kid even though I had no idea what it was.

I think cordial is supposed to be like the punch your grandma would have in a bowl at a housewarming party, but I could be wrong.

There were three actually. All made by the same studio. Redwall, Martin the Warrior, and Mattimeo (AKA the best one).

Redwall is older and broader, while animorphs and goosebumps were specifically for 90s kids.

Loved reading Redwall series in middle school. Marlfox was the original game of thrones

Found the first book Redwall in Barnes and noble and decided to reread it for nostalgia's sake

It's more likely they don't talk about it anymore because the author died.

Most of the vermin species were "evil", but it was often because they were marginalized and some would actually join with the mice, moles etc.

Also fun fact about the TV show, it ran on PBS in the States. While the Redwall and Mattimeo seasons would do re runs, they only ran Martin the Warrior once because the PBS brass considered it too violent. Shit was hardcore back in the day lol.

Also a weird starting point to be fair to him. Skips straight to the fourth generation descendant, although to be fair finding out what order to read the series in wasn't easy before the internet became more widespread.

Slagar the Cruel. Dude was basically a wizard, and he has the best design of the bad guys IMO.

Not to mention Mattimeo also has a ridiculously good side villain in General Ironbeak.

The Taggerung was the most recent one out when I lost track of the series. 8 more drops after that, damn Brian Jacques was a machine of a Fantasy writer. George RR Martin and Patrick Rothfuss should take notes.
