no, I skipped most of the time and I barely graduated.

that was mostly because I didn't really see life past high school, so I just messed around without any real plan.

the funny thing was that it didn't really inconvenience me afterwards, since I went to community college, and placement tests helped me get into transferable courses.

Yes. I was 11th in my class, and would've been 6th if I didn't get fucked over by autoshop class. (Teacher said I didn't participate by bringing in a car. I didn't have a car asshole.)

Yep! Graduated with a 3.55 GPA and 10 AP classes under my belt.

I was once in 8 grade science and 10 grade science, as I had already passed 9th.
I would be failing an English class while on my own reading college-level books.
I was the first to have to double up on gym classes.
One year I was mathematically tardy about half the days of the year.
Speaking of Math I once got a negative score on a test.
I actually got more than a letter for Music, because I was in music class for more years than I was supposed to me in school. ((I still sometimes forget I actually have a HS letter, lol))

There are probably some other fun tid-bit.
I didn't actually hate it though...our schools are just not designed for learning.

Despite all that I was generally liked.

I was valedictorian until part way through my junior year when mental illness set in. I skipped most of that year and just kind of coasted senior year. I had such a good resume prior to that that I still finished with a GPA in the mid-upper 3s but its a shame what happened, the kid I was before probably could have went Ivy League.

Nope. My 1 year of public HS konsisted of me being polite and quite to subtly get away with not doing many assignments. Then I cheated my way through home school.

The biggest change that high school brought was that we were allowed to leave school property and the school itself was right in the middle of town. I started skipping class all the time to get stoned and go skateboarding. I rarely handed in any assignments either. By that point in my life my Mom had completely stopped caring what I did, so I never got in any trouble at home for skipping, which just encouraged me to do it more. I eventually got expelled because of it and started working.

I also got my girlfriend pregnant and had a kid when I was still 17.

Hell no. But to be fair, at the time I was undiagnosed with ADD so I had trouble paying attention, and we also think that I had undiagnosed Sleep Apnea (I was about 175 lbs at 5'8, so that really wasn't thought of at the time).

I was a good student, attended all my classes and all that, but I was also an unmotivated student. I could have put in much more effort but I did not care what I was being taught.

I've never heard of or seen a positive outcome from homeschooling. Should probably be banned, tbh

Great academically, but got into fights a lot. <_<

Trashed talk the teachers and students back and forth and surprisingly nobody ever got offended.

I didn't give a fuck about school pride, never snitched on my homies, a bunch of us ditched the prom to go club-hopping and had a waaaaay better time meeting new peeps we shouldn't have.

Skipped first period gym class (after attendance) and had long breakfasts at Chick-fil-a.

The only dude in my entire school who had 2 15"s with a probox, and would blast that shit to and from campus 5-deep.

Fun time, but that shit is over with.

Anyway. I have a second experience I count as a proxy, and because he recognized what was happening. But. He didnt teach me anything lol. My lessons were negative and indirect. Not the material, but the situation

I got As and Bs in most classes except English where I got Cs and Ds.

but I hardly ever did my homework and I didn't study. I just memorized all the shit on the study sheet the morning before tests. most of the time when I actually did my homework it was either on the bus or in homeroom before classes.

I had two 10s in some crazy box with some insane amp that I got at a convention type thing. Think I had Sony X-Plod (which makes me laugh that I remember that) speakers throughout the car. A deck that that had one of the highest watts, 50x4 or some shit. Damn that thing bumped so loud. It was my baby. Three 6 and Outkast songs were some of my favorites to roll up to school with.

Then I put it in my Cherokee and it got stolen, being woken up by cops at 3am is never fun.

I know how things like this tend to be meant, but there are kids who are homeschooled who end up essentially illiterate; abuse can easily go unnoticed as well.

Thats why it should be more heavily restricted if it isnt going to be outright banned.

I was meh. My HS had very weak teachers and a terrible general curriculum. I was by no means dumb, I just largely didn't see the point of school until college - which is when I never left the dean's list for my major. :P

I also was addicted to WoW for two years in HS.

I think the general one size fits all approach to education doesn't work, especially for people like me. I've never been good with math, for instance, but was required to take classes for levels of math I knew I would never use. The classes I was interested in, however, would either not be offered or have caps, i.e. nothing beyond a college level.
