As a kid I grew up in pretty bad poverty, at least for US standards (moldy trailer with holes and the power would go out at least 1/3 of the time), so I worked a lot and had a lot of worries up until recently, and I was always too stressed and busy to care about having friends (even though I did have some friends I didn't actually care for, just to avoid being alone and standing out), but now I'm out of poverty (woo computer science major) and starting to prioritize it more and would like to find genuine friends that I can be myself around. But I am awkward af and most people I am around have way different life experiences than me, so I find it really hard to relate to people to make friends. I can make friends online because it is easier in general, and it's easier to find people with similar experiences to mine because I can just search for it, but IRL it is hard. What do i do
