The first game he has fox-die
In the second game you only play as him for an hour.
You don't play as him at all in the third game.
And last he's an old fuck in the fourth one and dies.

For being the best character in the series, he was screwed over insanely.

Yeah I wouldn't mind MG1 and 2 remade but like, in the same vein as MGS1.
Over the top camera and stuff, nothing too fancy or zany.
I just want to experience the storyline honestly.

Probably because they're literally just mgs 1. Mgs 1 was basically a remake of mg 2 which in turn was a remake of mg 1, it's the same game 3 times, even down to certain story beats and gameplay elements

as far as MGS characters go, IMO:

Snake > Ocelot > Solidus > Raiden > Big Boss > doesn't matter >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> shit > Otacon

The fact that those games are only on MSX and NES, and yet they're so pivotal to the storyline, makes me wonder why they were never remade for a modern audience in three dimensions. I'm sure people would appreciate more Solid Snake as opposed to Raiden/Old Snake/Big Boss/whatever.

2 is only on the MSX @Godnorgosh and the HD versions of 3

I agree. I never played the PS1 game, so all what was left for me was the Tanker chapter, probably the most I've enjoyed of the MGS series.
