Ill admit it seems really simple and boring when you first start but mid game you open up many options and light/dark shiftings cool af.

This was basically my experience. Someone sold it to me as "it's a metroidvania with pokemon" and so I was really expecting something like Dawn of Sorrow where the creatures were used as abilities. So, like, equipping a flying monster gets you double jump and stuff like that. Once I realized it was just a straight up pokemon game but as a 2d platformer I just kind of stopped caring.

I'll say, at least, that the game seems WAY deeper than pokemon with the way it handles buffs/debuffs/status effects and especially the tech tree for each 'mon that lets you customize how they synergize with the rest of your team. It honestly makes Gamefreak look even lazier than they already are. It's just not what I was looking for.

This is what makes it great for me. There are very few "useless" monsters.

An online PvP would be fucking sick.

There is pvp in the game, the quickplay just isn't very active for whatever reason

Im positive is really good.

Youre hitting on quite possibly the most boring, non-focus of the game: its world.

Its a 3-6 party pokemon game. Meaning 3 are active at once.

Really? I found them difficult and frustrating at times for sure, but I never thought they were cheap by any means. They didn't do anything that you yourself couldn't do.

The first trainer fight makes no sense. They present Will as scared and that he sucks and hes too scared to fight a champion you wreck and then he wrecks you. And hes the tutorial for trainers.

Thats literally in the game. How much did you play? You do this like....10 seconds into the game.

I played enough to realize that the actual combat was still a Pokemon style turn-based battle system. Unlocking the ability to double jump so that I can do that in new regions isn't the kind of game I was looking for.

I'm aware. What I meant is it taking 2-3 turns in a battle. Usually 2. Over time, it just made me want to skip battles.

When you are passing through an area with weaker monsters? Yes. And not necessarily 1 shot everything. But 1 turn everything when you have a full team of monsters vs weaker monsters. I'm sure you could argue that I had bad synergy with my team, which would be fair. But again, I played in early access and I didn't get far into the game. I wasn't saying the game sucked. Just hit burnout quicker. I played it during a time period where I was juggling multiple games at once.
