A New York Magazine reported that the late James Gandolfini aggressively objected to filming a scene for The Sopranos in Season 6 where his character, Tony was supposed to MASTURBATE in the BATHROOM of a gas station as he refused to degrade himself on screen!

His creative differences clashed with the writer and director that resulted in the longest and strongest tantrum during his time on the show...

It erupted over a script that called for Tony to dash into a gas station and masturbate during a period when Tony was having an affair with feisty realtor, Julianna Skiff played by Julianna Marguilies

He relented on that scene and they were forced to cut that scene out and edit out the rest of the episode

He had a fitful of bouts of disruptive and incredulousness as he reacted to certain scripts that was handed to them and would balk at that particular scene telling creator David Chase "Do i have to do this? What the f*** is this. I'm not doing it"

His portrayal as a NJ Mob boss was hailed as an iconic character in history and considering they were at a later season, he had more sway on how the show went.

He passed away in 2013 in Rome during a vacation after suffering a heart attack
