Basically the players in that world end up realizing that they are intelligent AI in a video game world but that world is altered to not be a horrifying GTA type game and more of an amazing "live your fantasies every day" type world where people from the real world come to visit with their player characters.

I always hated those side character plots where a side character finds their zen.
