The subject of women's rights was brought up and this dude in the back was getting really into it, talking about how this country heavily favors women and that men are almost second class citizens in America in a lot of ways.
Then this girl that was sitting up front calmly disagreed with him and brought up the whole abortion thing that's going on and terms like "businessman" being the default further backs up her point that men have more influence over women in this country.

Then the dude in the back starts raising his voice and is just going in on her. They're having this back and fourth and the professor have to break then up. Everybody moves past it and that's that right? Like, five minutes later, we're all talking about something else and the dude in the back raises his hand. The professor calls on him and he's, like, he still have points to the girl that he would like her to address. And he goes back to ranting at her, getting really into it and raising his voice (she's ignoring him at this point). The professor tries to get him to stop and focus on what we're currently talking about in this chapter we read and the guy's like, "I'll be honest, I didn't read the chapter. I'm almost done. I have a few more points I need to get across," and he just goes back to ranting.

Everybody was so uncomfortable. There was a dude literally sinking in his seat the whole time. Me and some guy sitting next to me were trying to hold back our laughter. Shit was gold.

It's a communication class. We were discussing a chapter we had to read over the weekend. It dealt with the cultural aspects of communication. The whole gender stuff was brought up because my professor is married to a Japanese man and spent a big chunk of her life living in Japan. She compares the various ways she and her husband experience things over there compared to here.

I wouldn't go that far, but it did came completely out of nowhere lol. From what I can tell, and the few times I've talked to him, he seems like a really chill, laid back, relatively well liked guy. Then he had this crazy outburst.

I mean the way you told the story it really comes across as something personal for him. Like women have been second class citizens until recently and even so they still are in some aspects. Doesnt take a liberal arts major to grasp that.
