A friend of mine, who was a former coworker, really liked a girl at work for years. He made that very clear. He often joked about it with her after she got back with her ex a year after he told her that.

He went into the Army a year after that and moved to Texas. He has been in the Army for years and came back from time to time to hang out and visit friends. We would always get together and this girl would show up.

On Wednesday of last week, 5 years since the start of this story, she texts my friend saying What would you do if I gave it all up for you? He obviously was confused what she meant but then she elaborated. She was asking if she gave up everything to be with him.

A few things to understand here.

1. She is still dating her ex mentioned above. (That has been an off and on thing for like 10 years)
2. When she said give it up, she means to leave her job, friends, family and boyfriend to move to Texas with him to be in a relationship.
3. They have never even been on a date before.

So he was trying to do the right thing by telling her to chill out and think it over. That is a massive decision that could possibly not work out. She got extremely offended by this and she kept pushing him. Saying things like, You need to stop playing. You know you want me. She wanted an answer within a few days.

He felt like something was up that she wasnt telling him so he told her no. The girl he probably loved to this day. He said no to protect her and himself. Today 5 days later She announces on Facebook that she is now engaged to her current boyfriend. FIVE DAYS LATER AFTER SAYING SHE WAS WILLING TO DROP EVERYTHING FOR HIM.

How would you react to this? What do you think?

She is most likely pregnant and was pushing for it so she could make it seems like it's his. That and/or she was just hoping to get free money by staying at home when he is deployed.

Id think she was unstable and stay tf away. Dont date seriously invest in emotionally unavailable people

Whats crazy is that she never seemed like that kind of person. Ive known her for a lot longer than he did. I met her in college 2010 or 2011? She was always a nice and cool person. I even fell for her back then and was shocked to see her again when I took this job. This behavior shocked me as much as him

He did always joke with her saying You know you want this Tricare for life. He was always joking around and everyone knew it. That is why he tone completely changed when he confirmed she was serious

I would of said
You didn't care about me back then, and now I don't care about you now.
I rather be alone than with someone who is unfaithful to current loved one.
I'm in no position to judge you, but I really don't want my perception of you to be skewed because of something that couldn't happen, sorry its simply was not and never ment to be.
