>I see you have 6 years of being a sysadmin so we have an excellent opportunity for you as a level 1 help desk. You will need basic computer troubleshooting skills and basic Microsoft Office skills.

Bitch I just fucking spent a fucking summer upgrading a fucking network for an entire school.

>we can offer you less money and on call and you'll be the personal bitch of our clients

gotta love recruiters.

They use email templates. Once a friend got an email from a recruiter like "Hi <Candidate name>, after we reviewed you resume we think you are a great fit! Yada yada"

Where the email actually said candidate name and not their actual name

Nah this was a back and forward conversation
paraphrased but
'me offer you bad job'
>ok uh, I do more in my current job and make more
'but it's a great learning opportunity and there are any many team activities so it's not all work!'
>dude we literally have monthly BBQs during warm months
'right but this is a strong company that can teach you a lot with a chance for more work after the 3 months is up#

Yooooooooooo!

My last day at my job was Friday. A recruiter called me today about a job offer, they have a massive 40K pay range listed for the job(from 45K to 85K) and I told her that was weird/red flag. She says "well we want to be able to get the right person and it will depend on exprience".

I'm a sys admin with over 10 years experience, proficient with windows, Mac and Linux environments. ALL manner of remote RMM tools. I am proficient at imaging using MDT, SCCM, JAMF, SmartDeploy, Intune. I have an excellent mix of networking, desktop customer facing and server support.

I hear back from her after 30 minutes, the company is trying to offer me $27/hour. That's like $56K or some shit, which I haven't worked for since about 2014. I'm coming off of making $105K. I'm in Pittsburgh where it's much cheaper and I have about $70K total in the bank, so I was actually fine with going down to like $80K since cost of living is nothing here compared to NY. They actually fucking tried to low ball me even more! And want to see if I am still interested in talking....!

WTF! If you don't want to pay, just move on. Leave me alone, lol.

Nope.
I don't work for companies that can't hire people effectively
In either case I've a job for life at the school outside of being fired for sniffing work colleagues since they frown upon that

Recruiters have no interest in getting you a good job that fits your experience and pays well. They simply want to cast a net around anyone that has any sort of remote experience to the job they are trying to fill. Like someone else here said, it's all a numbers game.
