46 y/o Misty and 48 y/o Kevin Mitchem from Virginia who REFUSED pleas from their family to get the COVID-19 vaccine after reading misinformation from Alex Jones and Fox News have now DIED from the disease within 2 weeks of each other leaving behind FIVE chidlren and one infant grandson!!

The High School Sweethearts regretted not taking the vaccine just before they died according to loved ones

Misty, a medical transcriptionst b trade declined to get it even though she had DIABETES!!

Terry, Kevin's Mother said "He called me up from the hospital and said, Mom, i love you and i wish that i'd got the shot. Of course, i told him. It's the past, you can't do anything about it. Just keep fighting baby"

They had 4 children, 17 y/o Riley, 14 y/o Leah, and twins Taylor and Aiden who are 11. Kevin had one daughter from a previous relationship, 22 y/o Angel and she is the mother of their grandson, Lincoln who will be 2 in November

After their deaths, the 4 children went to live with their aunt and uncle and had to leave to move to South Carolina.

Both their families have been turned upside down as Mike Mitchem said "The kids are the main thing. His oldest daughter just had a son, and i'm sure she wanted him to get close to his grandfather and that's not gonna happen now"

It happened when Kevin developed a cough last month when he decided not to follow instructions from masking up. He went to an urgent facility and was then sent home with cold medicine.

He returned a few days later when he wasn't feeling better and tested positibe for COVID.

Misty then got it days later and felt really bad where she was sent to St. Mary Washington Hospital and tested positive

Kevin called his brother on Monday and said his wife is in the hospital and said she got covid and had to be put on a ventilator

Her health deterioated rapidly and within days was unable to breath on her own.

Her kidneys were only functioning at 50%

Kevin was admitted to the same hospital and called his dad to say "Dad, i'm going to the hospital" and his dad asks him why and he said "I feel bad"

The following day, Misty died on September 23rd.

Mike said it just came out of nowhere but her diabetes was causing her body to deteroriate faster than non diabetic patients

Don, Kevin's father rushed to the hospital to tell him the news and Kevin had told him "Dad, i'm scared to death. I don't want to die. Mom, i love you and i wish that i'd got the shot. I'm so sorry"

Kevin died last week after they thought he was improving at one point but it inflicted too much damage to his lungs as he was otherwise a healthy person who never smoked, drank or did drugs or had diabetes like his wife.

His brother said he was a healthy man who did everything outside and now their parents had lost a son and daughter in law.

They said they were leery about the vaccine after reading and hearing about the side effects from Fox News and Alex Jones and Tucker Carlson who warned against it.

Don said he tried getting his son to do it and said to him one day "Hey, Kevin let's get the shot buddy. it's not going to hurt you. and he would tell me, Oh i know, i'm alright. I'm not going to need it. You shouldn't either"

Mike is angry about the vaccine misinformation that likely cost his brother and sister in law's lives and part of their pain now is anger on the people warning them of doom from getting it..

Rachael Rhodes, Mike's daughter in law works as a nurse and encouraged all of her relatives to get the vaccine and it was frustrating that they have people in their family who got sucked into the misinformation

A gofundme was launched for the couple raised 18,000 for the five kids have relocated to South Carolina

Don said through tears asking everyone to get the vaccine as it could take anybody at any age and taking a mother and father is uncalled for.
